Tell Hivey what’s next.
Give Hivey the goal. It creates a new swarm or manages one already working, so you don’t have to prompt every team.
Stop prompting every swarm. Talk to Hivey. It creates and manages your swarms, each led by its own coordinator. One conversation to get things moving. A whole team behind it.
Meet the agents, integrations, and extras that make Hivey yours. Explore each one below.
You talk to Hivey. Hivey manages the swarms.
Each swarm’s dedicated coordinator directs its agents, in its own terminal space.

Build the new onboarding flow. Bring in a reviewer.
◆ Hivey
The build swarm has its own space. The coordinator, builder, and reviewer are ready.

Agents message teammates. Coordinators connect with other swarms. A built-in message bus keeps deliveries queued and conversations logged.
Detach from the terminal and reattach later. Your agents keep running on your machine.
Research shouldn’t stop at the research swarm.
Let agents exchange findings within their team, and let coordinators carry the conversation across swarms.
Address a teammate, a role, or the whole swarm. Coordinators can message other swarms and their leads, so useful work reaches the team that needs it.
A whiteboard for each swarm, bringing tasks, shared notes, and decisions into one view. Designed to give the team a common picture of what needs to happen next.
Hivey gives your swarms a familiar face. The optional desktop pet reacts as agents start, finish, message, or need your attention.
Click the H and talk to the agent behind it. With voice enabled, Hivey can speak replies and important updates aloud. Your team has a voice, too.
Quietly observant.
Very good at bringing a team together.
Hivey coordinates new and existing swarms, each in its own space. All your AI swarms, one terminal. Stylized introduction, not a screen recording.
Talk to Hivey in its Slack channel to manage the big picture. Each swarm also has its own channel, where you can talk directly to its dedicated coordinator. Go deeper only when you want to.
Set scheduled check-ins to wake a coordinator when it’s idle. Your machine stays on. You don’t have to stay at your desk.
Give your swarms a memory you can open in Obsidian. Sources, findings, decisions, and reusable knowledge live in linked Markdown pages that agents maintain and return to.
Inspired by Karpathy’s LLM Wiki approach: keep the evidence, build a connected wiki, and give agents clear rules for maintaining it. The work can inform the next task.

Readable by your agents. Editable by you.
A plugin-first system, built on the herdr terminal runtime.
Bring the agents, skills, integrations, and memory that fit your work.
Swarm creation, dashboards, Slack, and skill management are extensible through plugins. Choose what belongs in your workspace.
Run multiple agents with Claude Code and Codex support. Give each agent a role and keep its work in the right swarm.
Hivey’s skill teaches supported agents to operate the workspace. Skill support makes repeatable workflows part of the team.
Retrieve configured integration credentials with EnvSave instead of pasting API keys into swarm prompts. Keep secrets out of the conversation.
Enable spoken replies and important updates through the macOS pet. Hear from Hivey while your attention is elsewhere.
Keep your agents’ wiki memory in local Obsidian vaults. Inspect the sources, browse the links, and build on what they learn.

No. Hivey is the coordinator of your swarms, running on the herdr terminal runtime. It creates and manages swarms; each swarm has a dedicated coordinating agent and workers using tools such as Claude Code and Codex.
Detaching the terminal leaves agents running, but the machine must stay awake and connected. Hivey is not a hosted service that keeps working after your computer sleeps.
No. The pet is optional and available on macOS. You can use the terminal workspace without it, or turn it off whenever you like.
No. Start with Hivey. It creates and manages the swarms for you. When you want to get into the details, you can also talk to a specific swarm’s coordinator in its terminal space or Slack channel.
Yes. Hivey integrates with Skylls, a separate website and tool that supports sharing skills, individual agents, and complete swarms with people you choose. Recipients and their agents can import those shared setups and adapt them. Access, installed tools, and credentials still need to be configured in their own environment.
Yes. Agents can message teammates, while Hivey and swarm coordinators can send messages across swarms. Coordinators handle those cross-team handoffs, with a message history you can inspect.
Hivey is available now for macOS and Linux. Get the source from alyssaaa11/hivey on GitHub, install the prerequisites, then run the installer. The setup guide walks you through your agents and optional integrations.
